Oct 2022: Rehabilitation Centre Opening

An amazing day to celebrate SKER’s achievements!

Mother Nature turned on a beautiful crisp, sunny day for our official Rehabilitation Centre Opening in October.

100 invited guests, including politicians from local, state and federal bodies, were here to help us celebrate the long-awaited opening of the only purpose built rehabiliation centre for sick or injured koalas and echidnas in South Australia.

All our invitees were special to us for a variety of reasons whether they were veterinarians, researchers, volunteers, land owners for browse sites, supporters, tradies or suppliers etc.

However we would like to say a special thank you to the following dignitaries who took time out of their busy schedules to show us some support:

Deputy Premier Susan Close, Nat Cook MP, Amanda Rishworth MP, Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, Erin Thompson MP, Hon. Laura Curran MLC and acting Mayor of the City of Onkaparinga Simon McMahon
